About:
We decided that we wanted to recognize our teachers in the school and give them the opportunity to see their students pursuing one of their passions outside of the classroom. Each member of our team was given a ticket to present to their favorite teacher inviting them to our Friday night home game at 5pm. Some of the girls also presented their teacher with small tokens of appreciation (candy, flowers, etc.). On the evening of the game, the teachers were recognized by the PA announcer and then at halftime were invited out onto the floor for pictures with their students. It was something that our student-athletes and teachers alike both really enjoyed and something that will become an annual event for our program.
