About:
Columbia High School’s girls volleyball team continued its commitment to community support and breast cancer awareness this season by participating in two meaningful events.
The Blue Devils first rallied their home crowd on game day against Averill Park, encouraging fans to wear pink in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The gym was filled with energy as students, families, and community members came together to show support for those affected by the disease.
Later in the season, Columbia took part in Shaker High School’s annual Dig Pink game, joining a larger community effort dedicated to raising funds for the Side-Out Foundation. This event also honored Kristen Casey, a stage 4 breast cancer survivor and Shaker parent. Guests enjoyed raffles, baked goods, and other activities, all contributing to a powerful night of awareness and fundraising.
By participating in both events, Columbia Girls Volleyball demonstrated the impact student-athletes can make both on and off the court, using their platform to promote compassion, unity, and support for an important cause.
