About:
The Skaneateles Girls Team competed against Marcellus, with one Marcellus swimmer who competes independently but trains with them. Meanwhile, the Skaneateles Boys Team consists of three members who compete independently with the Weedsport team, which comprises 11 boys and girls, forming a coed team.
The girls team organized fundraising activities this year to support a women’s shelter in Maui. They held a treadathon on a Sunday and hosted a Domestic Violence Awareness meet in October, resulting in a $500 donation to the women’s shelter. Typically, the girls team raises funds for various organizations, primarily focusing on Vera House. However, this year, they chose to support Maui, aligning with the Section’s efforts to raise funds for the Lahaina swim club.
On the other hand, the boys teams collected items from Helping Hounds’ wish list in Syracuse. They visited the facility, toured it, and interacted with some of the dogs for about an hour. The teams donated a substantial amount of food, toys, and paper products to Helping Hounds.
Both teams demonstrated exceptional dedication to raising funds and actively participating in community service initiatives, supporting commendable causes.
