About:
Jackson Edwards was a student who grew up in the Comsewogue District. Jackson would be graduating this year. When he was 6 years old, he was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. He passed in 2019.
During his hospitalization, Jackson initiated a toy collection campaign specifically designed to benefit children undergoing cancer treatment and facing life-threatening illnesses. All the contributions received would be distributed among various hospitals to aid children in need. This year marks the 10th annual Toy Drive, and for the very first time, Comsewogue Boys Basketball has chosen to support this noble cause, with a total of 27 boys from both JV and Varsity Boys programs joining hands to make a difference.
To promote the toy drive, efforts will be made on social media and during an upcoming game. New toys and donations will be accepted during the game as well as in the days ahead at school. Additionally, door prizes and raffles will be offered as tokens of appreciation to everyone who contributes. All funds and donations collected will be used directly to support Jackson’s Toy Drive.
Over the next three days, these young individuals will allocate their school time to help spread awareness about this initiative.
