About:
On Thursday, October 24, 2024, the Comsewogue Boys Volleyball team held their annual Senior Night with a meaningful twist—a “Pink-Out” game in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. This year’s senior players decided to use their special night as a platform to raise awareness and funds for breast cancer research, an effort led by Senior Captains Andrew Krieg and Anthony Fritz.
The captains took charge of designing and ordering special pink jerseys for the event and organized the sale of pink-themed merchandise, generously donated by the team’s booster club. In the weeks leading up to the game, team members promoted the event and the cause, selling pink ribbon pins and bracelets at school and within the community to help spread awareness.
In a powerful display of selflessness, these seniors transformed a night dedicated to celebrating their achievements into an opportunity to give back. Through their collective efforts, the Comsewogue Varsity and JV teams raised $664, which they donated to the Stony Brook Foundation in support of breast cancer research.
This “Pink-Out” Senior Night was not only a memorable event for the team but also a meaningful contribution to an important cause, showcasing the spirit of giving and community service among Comsewogue’s athletes.
