About:
The Connetquot High School track was alight with scenes reflecting the spirit of the holidays as the student government held its second annual Holiday Spectacular on Dec. 10. More than 200 student and faculty volunteers worked diligently Friday afternoon to set up a light show for the Connetquot community to drive through as soon as the sun set.
“The overwhelming support of the community validates the generosity of the holiday season,” student government president Zachary Palazzotto said. “Student government is honored to host this event and it will continue to grow over the years.”
School clubs were responsible for creating a holiday scene, which included a forest, sleigh and reindeer, a Christmas train, a glittering carport and more. Volunteers also dressed as holiday characters to the excitement of younger children. A portion of each car’s $5 donation will be donated to a local charity.
