About:
Several classes at East Islip’s Connetquot Elementary School recently joined forces to create gifts for Project Thank a Cop, a Long Island organization that supports local police officers. The students decorated and cut out paper hands featuring words symbolizing their thoughts about police officers. The hands were then used on the PTAC float for the Wantagh St. Patrick’s Day parade in March.
“Our students did a fantastic job and really took time to show their appreciation for our wonderful community helpers,” said special education teacher Crystal Ann Chiari.
