About:
As the Connetquot community gears up for the second annual Relay for Life event, Connetquot High School Principal Ken Costa recently helped to raise awareness by being taped to a wall by staff and students during the “Duct Tape the Principal” fundraiser.
On Wear Purple Day, an event coordinated by Connetquot High School Civic Club and advisers Michelle Goodwin and Gina Senft, students, faculty, and staff came together to celebrate cancer survivors, to support those currently battling the disease, and to honor those who have lost the fight. Students and staff members donated $1 in exchange for a strip of tape, which they used to secure Mr. Costa to the wall. This fun activity raised $200 for the cause.
Connetquot’s Relay for Life Event will take place on June 8, from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m., at the high school track. Anyone seeking additional information about the event, including signing up to participate or make a donation, can visit: www.relayforlife.org/connetquotny.
