About:
Connolly School’s K-Kids organized a fundraiser for the charitable organization Autism Speaks in recognition of Autism Awareness Month.
To raise funds, students sold multicolored bracelets that read, “We Stand Together” to fellow students and teachers. They also encouraged the school community to wear blue in honor of Light it Up Blue day.
Prior to the sale, students created posters to promote the sale and made announcements via the school’s public address system. Due to the overwhelming, generous response to the sale, K-Kids adviser Krystle Gonzalez indicated that more bracelets would be purchased to fill requests. To-date, the K-Kids raised more than $300 for Autism Speaks, with donations still coming in.
