The Copiague Middle School Builders Club, under the advisement of Maria Ostrofsky, has been busy in October and November with different fundraising efforts.
In recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness month in October, the Copiague Middle School Builders Club walked at the annual Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk at Jones Beach, where they raised $2,709 to be donated to the American Cancer Society.
Prior to Halloween, the students held a trick-or-treat fundraiser from Nov. 17-30 to benefit UNICEF. The Builders Club members had a raffle to guess the number of candies in the jar. Donations for UNICEF will be collected until Dec. 4.
