About:
Fresh off a big win on Friday night, the Corning Hawks Varsity Football team didn’t rest for long. Early Saturday morning, they were back in action—this time off the field—volunteering with the Corning Friends of the Library Society. The team spent the morning moving books from storage at Union Hall to a book sale at another location, showcasing their commitment to giving back to the community.
This volunteering effort came about through a long-standing relationship with a former teacher, who had reached out several years ago for help with the library. The Hawks were eager to support the cause once again, reinforcing their dedication to service beyond the football field. The players, who enjoy interacting with the older generation, appreciated the opportunity to lend a hand, and the Corning Friends of the Library Society expressed their gratitude for the team’s continued support.
The Hawks’ willingness to help, even after a tough game, speaks volumes about the character of these student-athletes and the values instilled by the Corning football program. Whether on the field or in the community, the Corning Hawks lead by example through their hard work and teamwork. Well done, Hawks!
