About:
The Cornwall Central High School Football team continued its commitment to giving back by volunteering at the annual Cheryl Walk or Run 5K on Sunday, October 25, 2026.
The community event brought together runners, walkers, families, and volunteers to honor the memory of Cheryl Walker while raising funds to support future nursing professionals.
Honoring a Legacy Through Community Service
The Cheryl Walk or Run 5K was established in memory of Cheryl Walker, a dedicated nurse and nursing educator who passed away from lung cancer in 2016.
Organized by her family, the event celebrates her life and passion for helping others while supporting the Cheryl L. Walker Nursing Scholarship at Mount Saint Mary College in Newburgh, New York.
The annual event has grown into a meaningful community tradition, raising nearly $100,000 over the years while bringing people together around a shared commitment to giving back.
