About:
Students of Cornwell Avenue Elementary School in the West Hempstead School District recently participated in the Nassau County Family and Children’s Association’s “Give Up 2 Give” campaign to increase awareness of homelessness on Long Island.
Along with a small donation, students were asked to give up possessions such as video games, toys and candy for a week to understand how homelessness affects children in the community. All donations were sent to the NCFCA to assist in local programs and housing for homeless youth.
