About:
Photo caption: Albert G. Prodell Middle School students in Mrs. Vitale’s STEAM class and Ms. Fallon’s virtual traveler class explored a powerful co-curricular lesson connecting the story of Sadako Sasaki and the tradition of paper cranes to the events of Sept. 11. Through this lesson, students learned how Japan and the United States have supported one another in the wake of tragedy, discovering how a simple symbol of hope has traveled across cultures and generations.
Inspired by Sadako’s story, students folded their own origami cranes as a symbol of peace, honoring the lives lost on 9/11 and reflecting on the power of compassion and connection between nations.
