About:
The Maple Grove Crimson Football Team continues to lead by example, both on and off the field — showing what it truly means to serve with heart.
This fall, the team raised an incredible $15,000 for Tackle Cancer and the Randy Shaver Tackle Cancer Foundationthrough t-shirt sales at lunch, donations collected in the stands, and support from an anonymous donor. Their booster club played a key role in coordinating all the efforts, helping make this year’s campaign their most successful yet.
In addition to their fundraising, the players also gave back in another meaningful way — by visiting several elementary schools to read to younger students. During what would normally be their “study table” period, players volunteered their time to connect with future Crimsons, reading stories and sharing their love of learning and teamwork.
The first visit included 30 student-athletes reading at one school, followed by nearly 60 players visiting two additional schools the next day. Each visit lasted about 20 minutes but left a lasting impression on the students and teachers alike.
“It’s an awesome way for our students to connect with the younger grades that are bound to be future Crimsons,” shared Coach. “It went really well, and we’ll continue this year in and year out as long as I’m the coach.”
Through their generosity, leadership, and community spirit, Maple Grove Football continues to prove that true champions aren’t defined solely by wins and losses — but by the positive impact they make on others.
