About:
Big props to our Cross Country teams today who volunteered yesterday to rake leaves at Machpelah Cemetery! We love to see our Knights give back, thanks for your efforts! Thanks to Le Roy alum Ed Henry for capturing our Knights in action:
Special thanks to the 2020 LeRoy Girls and Boys Cross Country teams for stopping by Machpelah Cemetery on Friday the 13th to help clean up the plethora of leaves that are most common this time of year. A dozen runners showed up and under the direction of Jay Laitenberger and Sue Spanton put in a fantastic effort in tarping up and removing huge amounts of fallen wet leaves for nearly 2 hours!
Coach Laitenberger is known as a uber talented coach that is constantly looking for his runners to improve to new personal bests each time they compete. That formula has produced 13 sectional titles for the LeRoy track/field/cross country programs. He is also developing all-star young adults who are champions in the community’s eyes for their willingness to come out and give back to a village that embraces the treasure that is our local educational system that produces these outstanding student-athletes.
