About:
For the past eight years, Croton-Harmon’s Varsity and JV softball teams have taken an active role in fostering the next generation of athletes through their annual youth clinics. Held over four nights, these clinics provide students in grades K-6 with an introduction to the fundamentals of softball in a supportive and engaging environment.
Each young athlete is paired with a Varsity or JV player, ensuring personalized instruction and a strong connection between the teams. The clinics focus on essential skills such as base running, fielding ground balls and fly balls, pitching, catching, hitting, and bunting. The final session even includes a game, giving participants a chance to put their new skills into action.
Through this initiative, Croton-Harmon’s softball program continues to build a strong community, instilling confidence and a love for the game in its youngest players. The dedication of the Varsity and JV athletes reflects the program’s commitment to mentorship, leadership, and the growth of the sport at all levels.
Another successful year is in the books, and the impact of these clinics is evident—not just in the skills learned, but in the bonds formed between Croton-Harmon’s experienced players and the future of their program.
