About:
Students from Dawnwood Middle School in the Middle Country Central School District are making a meaningful impact by giving back to animals in need.
Members of the National Junior Honor Society recently hosted a Pet Supply Drive at Petco, collecting generous donations to support local rescue organizations, including Save-A-Pet Animal Rescue and Last Chance Animal Rescue.
The event was made even more special with a visit from Dave, a rescue dog currently available for adoption through Last Chance Animal Rescue. His presence helped bring the mission to life, reminding students and community members of the direct impact their efforts can have.
With the support of NJHS adviser Mrs. Israel and the surrounding community, students demonstrated leadership, compassion, and a strong commitment to service. Through initiatives like this, Dawnwood students continue to show how small acts of kindness can make a big difference—both for animals and the people who care for them.
