About:
Two Dayton Avenue Elementary School students in the Eastport-South Manor Central School District recently approached building principal Dr. Shelita Watkis with an idea about doing something as a building to help those affected by the crisis in Ukraine.
The students turned their idea into reality and organized an essential items drive where they collected clothing, shoes, first aid items and toiletries. The president of the Pre-Health Professions Club at Farmingdale State College, Holdy Chauvette, accepted the donation and sent people out to collect the items and delivered them to St. Michael’s Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Uniondale.
