About:
With the need for blood never taking a day off, members of Division Avenue High School’s Peer Leaders joined forces with the New York Blood Center for the school’s annual blood drive on Nov. 8. Teachers and students joined together to donate 70 units of blood, which can be used to save up to 210 lives.
Adviser Mike Verdi commended the school community for their generous support.
“The students and faculty never cease to amaze me,” he said. “I cannot think of a better way to help people than to give someone the gift of life by donating one’s blood. With no substitution in this world for blood, what Division Avenue did today will go a long way in helping people.”
