About:
This year, the Dover-Eyota High School football program is participating in the Randy Shaver Cancer Research and Community Fund’s Tackle Cancer initiative, a statewide effort allowing Minnesota high schools and colleges to raise funds for cancer research and support local families affected by the disease.
Dover-Eyota has designated its home game against Triton on Friday, October 3, as their official Tackle Cancer game. To support the cause, the team is offering a special lavender T-shirt, chosen to represent all cancers, emphasizing that the fight against cancer unites everyone. For every shirt sold, $5 will be donated to the Randy Shaver Fund on behalf of the Dover-Eyota football program. Orders can be placed online through September 14: Tackle Cancer Shirt Order.
On game day, there will also be additional opportunities for fans to contribute and participate in fundraising efforts. The 40 players will also engage in gameday activities to honor friends and family members affected by cancer.
Through these efforts, Dover-Eyota football aims to unite the team, school, and community in support of a meaningful cause and make a tangible impact in the fight against cancer.
