About:
We have 41 students who volunteer for the program. This Fall we ran 8 sessions, it totaled 12 hours for the Fall.
Our student volunteers act as ‘buddies’ for our players who have disabilities. They essentially run the program, each buddy is paired with a player and they guide the player through drills and games.
Our buddy leaders run the practice sessions.
The TOPSoccer program is an adaptive soccer program for children who would otherwise not get the opportunity to play or those who need more dedicated one on one time. The program has 17 players participating and has been running for 2 and a half years.
I should additionally add that this program would not exist if it wasn’t for the student volunteers who make it happen. Myself and Craig (copied) help oversee and manage the logistic, but it is the students that ARE the program.
It is a fantastic community project and many of these students dedicate their time in the Fall and Spring and have done for the last couple of years.
Thanks! We are very proud of all the volunteers.
