East Lake Elementary School once again showcased the power of student leadership and community spirit through its successful Thanksgiving food drive. Led by the Student Council and the Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD) club, this initiative brought the entire school together in support of families in need.
Students were encouraged to donate nonperishable food items along with essential household goods. Their response was overwhelming. Thanks to the generosity of East Lake families and the dedication of these two student leadership groups, hundreds of items were collected—each one serving as a reminder of the impact that young people can make when they unite for a meaningful cause.
All donations will be delivered to the YES Community Counseling Center, where they will support local families and individuals during the holiday season. This partnership not only assists community members in need but also teaches students the importance of empathy, service, and taking action to help others.
A big congratulations to the East Lake Elementary Student Council and SADD club for their outstanding work and for inspiring their peers to give back. Their leadership continues to strengthen the culture of kindness within the school and beyond.
