The East Moriches National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) is helping turn October pink in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Throughout the month, NJHS students will be selling breast cancer awareness merchandise during lunch periods, with items available for $1 each. The initiative gives students an opportunity to come together around an important cause while helping raise awareness throughout the school community.
Sales will take place on select Tuesdays and Fridays throughout October, including October 2, 6, 9, 13, 16, 20, 23, 27, and 30.
By organizing the “Pink October” initiative, East Moriches NJHS is showing how students can use their leadership and service to make a difference while encouraging classmates to support and recognize Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
It is another great example of young people stepping up to strengthen their school community through service, compassion, and awareness.
