The East Williston School District is excited to announce its support for JZips, a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping cancer patients through the creation of specialized mediport t-shirts. Throughout September and October, in recognition of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, the district will be accepting donations of new t-shirts to contribute to this meaningful cause.
JZips transforms newly donated t-shirts into mediport shirts, which feature a zippered shoulder area, allowing patients to receive cancer treatments without needing to remove their shirts. This simple modification helps make the treatment process more comfortable and convenient for both children and adults.
How the East Williston Community Can Help: When shopping, families are encouraged to purchase a t-shirt to donate.
Donation Guidelines:
- T-shirts must be NEW with tags
- 100% cotton (no performance or athletic fabrics)
- Fun and simple designs preferred
- No plain t-shirts, and no holiday or seasonal designs
- Sizes needed: 2T to 2XXL for kids, men, and women
- Girls’ t-shirts are especially needed
Drop-Off Location:
A donation bin is available at the school for convenient drop-off.
East Williston is proud to support JZips in making a difference for cancer patients. The community’s contributions will help make cancer treatments a little easier and more comfortable for those in need.
