Students in Christina Tellekamp’s class at Elwood’s James H. Boyd Intermediate School recently continued an annual holiday-season tradition of writing letters and creating inspiring card designs for U.S. troops stationed overseas. The cards were then mailed to the service members along with care packages of snacks.
“My father was in the Army, and I want the students to be aware of what others are doing to help protect our country,” Tellekamp said. “This year was extra special because we have a child in our class that has a father who is currently deployed in Africa”.
