About:

East Rockaway Junior-Senior High School art department had a great turn out for its fourth annual Empty Bowls event on Nov. 19.

Community members were welcomed into the school’s cafeteria as they enjoyed the student art show, live music and a buffet of food that was donated by many local restaurants. Art students also created ceramic bowls that were given to attendees as keepsakes.

This year, the event raised $1,400 through raffles and donations. The proceeds will benefit Long Island Cares, the Harry Chapin Food Bank, in an effort to help put an end to hunger on Long Island.
