The Fairport Field Hockey program dedicated their recent game to the memory of Hannah Metzler, a beloved teammate who lost her battle with cancer in 2014. Before her passing, Hannah and her brother founded the Crush Cancer Concert Series, raising funds to support others in their fight against cancer.
On game day, the team came together to carry on Hannah’s legacy, honoring her strength, kindness, and love for the sport. Players invited fans to wear orange or teal—Hannah’s colors—and to consider donating to the Hannah Metzler Fund in her memory.
The heartfelt pregame ceremony reminded everyone that Hannah’s spirit continues to live on in her teammates and community. Her family shared their deep gratitude, expressing how much it means that Fairport continues to celebrate Hannah’s life and impact through the game she loved.
