About:
On Saturday, March 15th, students, athletes, and residents will come together for a charity 5K run to support the St. Baldrick’s Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to funding childhood cancer research and supporting young survivors.
Organized with the help of the Varsity Leaders Club (VLC), this event is an opportunity for the community to rally together and make a real impact. Whether you choose to run, walk, or donate, every contribution helps in the fight against childhood cancer. Not a runner? You can still be part of the excitement by cheering on participants, joining raffles, and spreading awareness!
The VLC and Student Government Association (SGA) partnered with Elitefeats, a race and timing company, to plan and promote the event. They worked diligently to secure permits from the Town of Oyster Bay and the school district, ensuring a successful and fun-filled day. Students from both clubs also played a key role in securing sponsors.
On race day, VLC members will be actively involved in various responsibilities, including:
🏃♂️ Water station assistance
📋 Bib pick-up & registration
👕 T-shirt distribution
🏁 Course setup
📸 Finisher photos
🎟️ Raffle & giveaway coordination
📢 How You Can Help:
✅ Register for the race
✅ Donate to support childhood cancer research
✅ Share this initiative with family and friends
Let’s come together and make a difference! 💚💚
