my cross country team is a rather energetic bunch . We as a team wanted to do a “give back” and this idea really caught on quick . The simplicity was half the beauty . It was a perfect Saturday morning. As part of their workout we ran all the way to Bethpage Park , and from there we worked our way back to FHS . It’s about a 2 mile stretch of path . All they needed were some small shopping bags , some gloves , and a few commercial garbage bags . I sweetened the pot by offering a small prize to the group that picked up the most ( by weight) lol.
They had fun and really put a dent in the litter situation along the trail .
We are thinking of another clean up , going the other way towards Brady park .
As a lifelong Daler it was really so nice to see the girls doing the right thing for the right reasons
