About:
Both our 7th and 8th grade teams were able to spread awareness for Breast Cancer this month by wearing pink socks and spirit strips for these two home games at the end of this month. We have two mothers within the program (one on each team) who have been impacted by Breast Cancer, so we dedicated the game in honor of their fight, courage and their family’s as well. I think this ended up being a huge show of support for these women from the Shen athletics community with our teams and fans cheering them on in their brave journey as survivors!
Each team has roughly 20 players/managers who were a part of this. Our game was about an hour and a half in total. Our athletes helped support this cause by wearing pink and each dedicating their efforts to this game for these women. The team chose this cause as their teammates were impacted by the many effects of Breast Cancer wearing on their families.
