About:
Our entire JV and Varsity team participates.
The athletes go around during their opposite game (JV will “work” the Varsity game, and varsity will “work” the JV game), and they sell soups to spectators throughout our whole campus. We have two sizes of soups. The event itself is probably just about four hours but the planning takes much longer. Our parents (since they have permission to drive) will go out into town and get the donated soups and bring them to the school. Then the parents will work the soup stand, filling the orders that the girls are selling.
Unfortunately, I am coaching during the event so I have no taken any photos. It is really a great day. It gives exposure to small businesses and large businesses in the community and we donate the money to two different local soup kitchens so that helps out our community as well. It is a really great way for the girls to see that there are things going on in the community that they might not even have known about. It’s overall a great day!
