Fitchburg Girls Volleyball Raises Breast Cancer Awareness in Support of Runway for Recovery

The Fitchburg High School Girls Volleyball team recently brought its school community together for a meaningful cause, using the power of sports to raise awareness for breast cancer and support families impacted by the disease.

During an October 19 volleyball game at Grutchfield Fieldhouse in Fitchburg, the Red & Gray dedicated their efforts to highlighting Runway for Recovery, a nonprofit organization that provides support to families affected by breast cancer.

The special event demonstrated how high school athletics can bring people together for a purpose greater than the final score.

In recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Fitchburg’s volleyball program used its platform to shine a light on the challenges faced by individuals and families navigating a breast cancer diagnosis.
