About:

Students at Floral Park-Bellerose School spread kindness and participated in themed days to celebrate the Great Kindness Challenge, from Jan. 24-28.

Each day, students were invited to dress for the theme and were given a kindness challenge, such as “donate to your favorite charity,” “smile and say ‘hello’ to someone new” and “compliment others today.”

The Great Kindness Challenge week kicked off with “Peace, Love and Kindness” Day, and students came to school decked in tie dye or neon colors. On Tuesday, students wore mismatched clothing, shoes and socks, or wore their clothing backwards, for “Mixed Up in Kindness” Day. Crazy hairstyles and hats were seen in the hallways on Wednesday for “Crazy for Kindness” Day. On Thursday, students were able to dress like a teacher or twin with a friend for “Double the Kindness” Day. The week concluded with “Team Kindness” Day, and students dressed in their favorite sports team apparel.
