About:
Floral Park Memorial High School’s World Language Honor Society , which includes studnet athletes, visited the Ronald McDonald House in New Hyde Park on March 19 to cook breakfast for its families.
The group was comprised of students Emmanuel Betancourt, Nora Brennan, Sarah Chimera, Jocelyn Cottington, Nicole Metrick and World Language Honor Society President Tina Seuling, as well as supervisors John Christianson and Veronica Powers. They were greeted with open arms by the staff and received a tour around the newly renovated house. The students planned, shopped, prepared and served food to 90 people in what was both a heartwarming and rewarding experience. The Ronald McDonald House was extremely appreciative for the NHS’s “It has nothing to do with food, but everything to do with your hearts” said Judy, a volunteer at the house.
