Floral Park Memorial High School’s Junior Lions club held its second annual blood drive in conjunction with Long Island Blood Services on Nov. 15.
Prior to the event, Junior Lions club members hung posters throughout the school and community to promote the collection. They also visited classmates during lunch periods and encouraged them to make a donation. In all, 83 pints of blood were collected thanks to students, faculty and community members.
“Kudos to the students who donated blood” Junior Lions adviser Kurt Brechtlein said. “Several of the Long Island Blood Services employees commended the students for being so nice, mature and respectful.”
