About:
More than 100 students from Floral Park Memorial High School got together after school on May 18 to help prepare for the Hance Family Foundation’s Fun Day, which was held on May 20.
Students, with the help of teachers and advisers, stuffed more than 2,000 bags for runners participating in the Hance Family Foundation’s 5K Run. On the day of the event, Floral Park Memorial students volunteered their time to distribute water to the walkers/runners. They also assisted with set up and clean up, face-painted, monitored rides, helped sell foundation apparel and monitored food stands.
Throughout the year, students in the Promoting Academic through Life Skills program, prepare for this beautiful event. They made heart-shaped boxes and labeled each of them. They also helped stuff envelopes and bags for community members. The foundation holds a special place in the heart of Floral Park Memorial.
