About:
All 3 girls volleyball teams (freshman, JV, and Varsity), plus the 3 coaches and Team Manager, so roughly 45 participants, as well as, help from Booster Club parents for organizing.
They did some team building, plus tonight’s games are our Dig Pink games, which all of the Mass HS volleyball teams usually have every October for Breast Cancer month. So, I would say 3-4 hours. Doing tie dye socks, making posters, etc; hopefully using their social media channels to get folks to the games. Patriot’s Place in Foxboro also donated Dig Pink t-shirts for the teams, as one of our parents works there, and was able to get them to design and donate the pink t’s
It’s a mix of awareness related and a donation. Due to the school’s restrictions on what we were able to do pre-COVID, like having the snack stand open inside and a co-ed Dig Pink game for the students, which were donation fundraisers, we are limited to just having an online apparel store open, and using those proceeds to make a donation to the Ellie Fund. One of our neighbors, who is a breast cancer survivor, was a benefactor of the Fund while she was undergoing treatment. Historically, we also used to participate in a breast cancer walk in RI, but financial constraints to pay for busing to the walk didn’t allow for that this season.
