About:

Freeport Soccer’s participation in the Facebook Pushup Challenge for St. Jude.
It is a fundraiser I came aware of from a friend I workout with. I started the fundraiser on my own Facebook page and decided to get the team involved. So far, we have about 16 players participating. It is a great way to keep them engaged during the offseason and support a great cause. The challenge consists of accumulating 3,000 push-ups in November. There are many ways to complete this challenge, but a consistent 100 push-ups a day is recommended. Each participant is tracking their own progress while spreading the fundraiser link to encourage people to donate to the cause.
The fundraiser supports the nonprofit organization St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital who is leading the way the world understands, treats and defeats childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases. Regardless of the duration or the cost of care, families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing, or food, so they can focus on helping their child live. They have treated children from all 50 states and from around the world and their treatments have helped push the overall childhood cancer survival rate from 20% to more than 80% since it opened more than 50 years ago.
