About:
As Valentine’s Day quickly approaches, the students from Freeport Public Schools’ Caroline G. Atkinson Intermediate School, Bavyiew Avenue, Leo F. Giblyn and New Visions Elementary Schools have been hard at work using their creative talents to make Valentine’s Day cards to send to local veterans.
The annual program is a way for students to show their appreciation and support for veterans by sending them handmade valentines. Classroom teachers, art teachers and school group advisors helped the students design cards with colorful images and inspiring messages of appreciation as a way of saying thank you to the veterans for their service to the country.
The valentines created by the Freeport students will be delivered to local veterans in Nassau County.
