About:
Friday night at Parkway Field will be more than just another football game—it will be a night of remembrance, awareness, and community support. The annual Break the Hold (BTH) Game honors Brian Thomas Halloran, a beloved Pleasantville High School athlete who lost his battle with depression and anxiety on January 23, 2018, during his second semester at the University of South Carolina. Brian was only 19 years old.
In Brian’s memory, the Break the Hold Foundation provides DBT-STEPS-A education to middle and high schools, equipping students with skills to manage emotions, cope with stress, and support peers struggling with mental health challenges.
Each year, student leaders—often team captains—organize a game in Brian’s honor. The event is more than a fundraiser; it’s a chance to raise awareness for youth mental health, break the stigma around depression and anxiety, and show that no one has to face these challenges alone.
This year’s BTH Game is:
💛 Friday, September 19 | 6 PM | Parkway Field | Pille vs. John Jay
