About:
Students at Cutchogue East Elementary School, in the Mattituck-Cutchogue School District, participated in the WizFit Challenge through the Harlem Wizards and sponsored by the Cutchogue East PTA. The WizFit challenge presented a group of physical education activities designed to challenge students while educating them on the importance of staying fit and making healthy choices.
Students registered as participants and earned fundraising dollars for the school. Some rewards included light up Harlem Wizard bracelets, a no homework pass for the entire school for one evening, an ice cream party, a movie and popcorn party in class and so many other wonderful prizes.
There was also one special reward that every student had the opportunity to earn. Students were able to mummify principal Amy Brennan and Superintendent of Schools Shawn Petretti. At one point, guidance counselor Kelly Pickering also participated. To add to the event, music was provided by band teacher Bryan Bowie. Everyone showed their school spirit and had a great time. The event raised $17,766 through the WizFit Challenge.
