About:
Cold Spring Harbor High School once again hosted the annual Gains for Brains charity event, bringing together some of the top girls high school lacrosse programs in the country for a day dedicated to competition, community, and giving back.
The event featured 20 elite girls lacrosse teams while continuing its mission of supporting the Making Headway Foundation, an organization dedicated to providing care and support for children with brain and spinal cord tumors and their families.
This year’s event also introduced the inaugural Youth Jamboree, expanding the impact of Gains for Brains by welcoming young athletes from the Cold Spring Harbor and Huntington communities. Kindergarten through second-grade players participated in the event, helping teach the next generation the importance of service, teamwork, and supporting meaningful causes through sports.
Beyond the high-level lacrosse competition, Gains for Brains continues to stand out as one of the premier midseason events in high school girls lacrosse because of the purpose behind it. Through fundraising, awareness, and community involvement, the event demonstrates how athletics can bring people together to make a lasting difference both on and off the field.
