About:

Every year, usually in February, we select two home games in which our  girls’ JV and Varsity plays one night and the boys’ JV & Varsity teams play.another home night, same week.  These are already scheduled games and we add to the evenings with Cancer awareness.  In the past, community members who have had cancer recently or currently are honored during these games.  Such highlights include our cheerleaders leading us in the games, the athletes wear pink ribbons, we hold a raffle table of various baskets and themes, we sell t-shirts (Cancer Messed with the Wrong Team)” Athletes also wear these T-shirts in the course of the day and as their warm-ups.  The elementary P.E. teachers hold after school events, one for girls and one for boys with foul shooting contests in which they pay a fee for the event.  On the evenings of our games, these students will come and show-off their skills.  100% of these efforts are all given back to the family we are honoring.  This year, our cheerleaders were invited to a home wrestling match which was held last week, the same week as our games and the raffle table was set up .

I am not sure how much we raised for this family but know in one night we raised over $400 on the raffle table and a generous donation of $500 from the family of last year’s honoree was donated.
I have attached a sample flyer of our advertisement for this cause  family.
