The Gates Chili Boys and Girls Basketball programs recently joined forces to brighten the holiday season for local families in need. By collaborating to wrap gifts for the Primetime Ballers Christmas Program, the athletes showcased the profound impact sports can have in spreading joy and uplifting their community.
This initiative was a shining example of the holiday spirit, emphasizing teamwork, generosity, and giving back. Organized by Primetime 585, the program encouraged students to make a meaningful difference. Inspired by the organization’s call for support on social media, Coaches Damore and Kuehn saw this as the perfect opportunity for their teams to contribute and quickly stepped forward to participate.
With all 28 varsity basketball players involved, the boys and girls teams worked together to shop for and wrap gifts, dedicating time between their practices to spread holiday cheer. Their collective effort demonstrated the strength of unity, both on and off the court, and underscored the compassion at the heart of sports.
