Girl Scouts from Selden Service Unit 46 recently gathered at the Middle Country Public Library in Selden to take part in Pinwheels for Peace, a meaningful initiative centered on kindness, respect, and building a more peaceful community.
During the event, scouts shared what peace means to them and reflected on how the Girl Scout Law encourages them to treat others with respect, spread kindness, and make the world a better place.
The girls also created colorful pinwheels that were placed on the library lawn, creating a visible reminder of their messages of peace and positivity for the community to enjoy.
The event was made even more special with support from Officer Berry of the 6th Precinct, Councilman Neil Manzella, and Legislator Nick Caracappa, who joined the scouts for the celebration.
A special thank you was also extended to the Middle Country Public Library for welcoming the group and supporting the Girl Scouts’ efforts.
Through Pinwheels for Peace, these young leaders showed how even a simple project can spark meaningful conversations and help spread kindness throughout the community.
