About:
Bellmore Star Leaders worked diligently to collect toys and mittens prior to the holiday break for those less fortunate.
At the Charles A. Reinhard Early Childhood Center, the spirit of giving was integrated into the English language arts program. Inspired after reading Candace Christiansen’s “The Mitten Tree,” student advisory council students collected 106 pair of mittens and gloves during a supply drive.
Additionally, student advisory council students at Winthrop Avenue and Shore Road Schools collected toys for the Toys for Tots and John Theissen Children’s foundations, as well as local Bellmore families.
