About:
As students donned yellow and gold to raise awareness about pediatric cancer, third graders in Lauren Annarumma and Nicole Lipori’s class went the extra mile at McKenna Elementary School in the Massapequa School District on Sept. 27.
Their students colored gold ribbons, the symbol for Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, which is observed annual in September. Inside the ribbon, they wrote inspirational words and messages. The completed drawings were then sent to Cohen Children’s Medical Center to spread joy to children battling cancer and other illnesses.
