About:

Lance Golubinski is a former wrestler for Goshen who tragically passed in a car accident awhile back. Every year, in his honor, we hold a wrestling tournament to raise funds for a college scholarship in his honor. Unfortunately this year because of the pandemic we will not be able to hold this annual wrestling tournament, so instead the parents club has decided to hold this “pushup fundraiser” in a local park.
Essentially, for every $20 that is donated by the community, the wrestlers will do 138 push-ups. (138 is Lance’s former weight class).
There are roughly 20 members of the team, but from what I am gathering we will have local police officers doing push-ups, parents doing push ups, and many more doing push ups in support.

“Members of the Goshen wrestling team are laying it all out there for the Lance Golubinski Memorial Scholarship by performing push ups in exchange for donations!Goshen traditionally hosts the Lance Golubinski Invitational Tournament this time of year as a way to kick off the wrestling season – but more importantly, to pay tribute to one of Goshen’s most accomplished wrestlers, Lance Golubinski. Although the tournament will not be held this year because of the pandemic, the wrestling community is looking forward to raising money for the scholarship with their push up fundraiser.

The fundraiser is simple. For every $20 raised, the team will perform 138 push ups (138 lbs. was Lance’s weight class). An event will be held at Craigville Park at 2 p.m. on Sunday, December 20 where the boys will do the push ups together as a team while strictly adhering to social distancing and personal protective equipment requirements.

For example, if the team raises $1,000, a group of 20 could divide the push ups into 345 per wrestler.

How do I donate?

Donations can be given to any participating Goshen wrestler, sent via Venmo to @Amy-Winkler-18, or delivered to 40 Maiden Lane, Goshen, New York.

Interested in participating?

The push ups can add up quickly. We need as many wrestlers as we can get! All varsity, junior varsity, modified, youth and alumni wrestlers are invited to participate. If you are interested, please contact any Goshen wrestler or Amy Winkler from the Goshen Wrestling Parents Organization at amyrwinkler@yahoo.com.”
