About:

“The P.S. I Love You Foundation’s mission is to bring awareness to the importance of mental health. They want to make the topic of mental health an easy topic to talk about, so if anyone needs help they’re not afraid to ask.

They celebrate P.S. I Love You Day on the second Friday of February but due to my basketball schedule I had to run the event at the end of January.

I ran this event as my Personal Service Project in my Leadership class and I chose the P.S. I Love You Foundation because I know that mental health is a very important topic and that it isn’t talked enough about. I started off with designing t-shirts that both our varsity and jv team wore to warm up and I then sold them to teachers and staff and also members of players families to wear the day of the game. On top of that I set up a raffle for a $100 amazon gift card that I also sold to teachers, staff and members of the players families. To advertise for the game I created a flyer and I hung several of them around the school and I also emailed the head of HYO basketball and he sent the flyer out to the teams. I also raised money from having the concession stand open during both the varsity and jv games. Overall I raised close to $1,000 for the P.S. I Love You Foundation and I’m so grateful that I could do something for such a great foundation.”- Hailey Kulesa
